Nicolas Slonimsky – Perfect Pitch

Nicolas Slonimsky is known in Jazz for his book Thesaurus of Scales and Melodic Patterns that John Coltrane practiced out of. However, there is a lot more to the man who knew Glazunov, Rimsky-Korsakov, Leonard Bernstein, Koussevitzky, and Stravinsky amongst others. I recently finished Slonimsky: Perfect Pitch, an Autobiography. Great read into the life of a musical genius. I highly recommend it to anyone interested into the workings of such a genius.
