Tank! (2013)

Posted on December 5, 2013October 25, 2021 By ericdano 9 Comments on Tank! (2013)

One of the most popular things on this site is the arrangement I did of Tank!, the opening theme to Cowboy Bebop by Yoko Kanno. I did it about 10 years ago. I recently updated it to make it more “professional” I guess. Gone is the goofy Jazz Font. The drum part has been redone, and other little things have been tweaked. Hopefully it is a better and more playable arrangement now.

AWESOME arrangement! When I play this song, I believe that the main sax riff (for alto) is A E A Eb A D A G A…. half steps going down on the higher notes. same with the D A D G# D G D C D. i may be mistaken but that is how i played it by ear.
Any luck with the Baccano! OP G&R Paradise Lunch?

Nope, that would be incorrect. That is not how it goes. The melody is sorta a play on “The Best Is Yet To Come” melody.

Guns and Roses I’m not releasing. I might maybe put it up for sale, but I don’t see it being free anytime in the near future.

What are the copyright issues related to this piece? Are we, (as a band), allowed to play this publicly? For non-commercial use?

I don’t see why you couldn’t play them in public.

Spectacular job! I am amazed at how amazing this is. I would love to use this for my jazz band, so am I allowed to use this or do I need to buy it? I feel bad for just taking it because you worked so hard.
